TMS320F28374S: Frequency variation Graph for internal oscillators

Genius 9880 points
Part Number: TMS320F28374S

Hi Team,

Good day, we received query from customer asking for a support data regarding frequency variation. For me to not miss any information I'll copy the query below.

"In the datasheet the frequency variation mentioned as +/- 3%, Can you please provide supporting graph regarding that, (variation due to VDD and variation due to temperature and any external factor."

Thank you and looking forward for your kind response.

Regards,

Maynard

  • Maynard,

I need to dig a bit to see if what info we have here.  I'll try my best to reply back today, but may need another day to pull in the right team members on this one.

    Best,

    Matthew

  • Hi Matthew.

Good day, any update on this?

Thank you and looking forward for your kind response.

    Regards,

  • Maynard,

While I can't share the characterization data explicitly I can provide some color that should be helpful for the customer:

1)Temperature is the primary/dominant factor that drive change in the oscillator frequency

2)The general trend is that with increasing temperature the oscillator sees an increase in its frequency output.(although there are some devices with very small temp drift that exhibit the inverse trend)

3)The best fit line is more polynomial in nature, vs a linear fit

4)Colder temperatures show the most deviation from norm compared to hotter temps

5)-40C will be where customer sees max deviation from 10MHz, -3%.  Note that it is a relatively small percentage of devices that deviate this much.

6)The frequency movement from -40C to 30C(room temp) is about 3x compared to 30C to 125C.

    Best regards,

    Matthew
