TMS320F28069M: The problem of motor speed

Dear team:

One of my customers designed a motor, but with TI's FOC algorithm, he only ran the speed to 14000 rpm. Would you like to know if this motor can use FOC algorithm to increase the speed to 30000 RPM? How to operate?

Motor parameters: Voltage 310V, peak current 25A, inductance 0.2mh, back EMF 0.0085, 10 pairs of poles, maximum design speed 30000 rpm.

The maximum running speed depends on the spec. of the motor and input dc voltage. The customer might try to implement the field weakening control if the motor can't run to the maximum speed of the motor.

What he means is that the f28069m operates at 90MHz and drives IGBT or MOS, such as 45KHz, based on the sensorless FOC algorithm.

Can the computing power of the chip support the motor speed of 30000 RPM?

We didn't test such a motor with instaspin-foc on F2806x before. I don't think it's easy to run this motor at such a speed (5000Hz) for this controller. You have to use a much higher PWM and control frequency, and need a faster frequency CPU.

It may be fine, that depends on the spec. of the motor and the execution code in ISR.
