TMS320F28027F: Motor gets very hot

Hi, the link that you sent is not working on my end. Are you testing with load? Without load, or at fractions of rated load at zero speed, the estimator cannot actually command "0 RPM" as the back-EMF is 0 at that point, which causes error within the estimation. If you are testing this at full load, you may try tuning the speed loop. The speed loop parameters should be set in "stages," as different sections of the speed curve will need to react differently. Parameters that may work at rated speed may perform poorly at stand-still, etc.

The motor becoming hot sounds reasonable to me, especially while under load. The phase currents experience power loss due to resistance in the windings, which manifests as heat

if I have to stop the motor what should I do ?

Disabling the PWM output should be sufficient to stop the motor. Again, 15 minutes at rated speed should cause the motor to heat up. You may contact the motor manufacturer for more information to find out if the temperature rise you are seeing is typical for the motor you are using.

If any motor parameter is incorrect say Speed kp,Ki ,will it drop down the efficiency and result to temperature rise ?
If yes can you tell me which parameters I need to re-calculate?

Have you scoped the current waveform? How do they look?

Disabling the PWM works. But Enabling them back again doesn't start the motor.What else should I take care of while enabling PWMs.?
