F28335 control CARD's Leds don't light

Hi,

I've used my TMDS320F28335 experimenter kit without any issues until the control card which is cased on the 'experimenter's kit USB docking station' have got the leds switched off at the same time the CCS_v6 wasn't able to recognize the target and connect to it anymore. Only the USB port was used for the tests and no inputs were connected in GPIO's. All the configs and drivers were reviewed, the device tested on other computers and no sucess. The board's green led lights while the control card's leds remain off. They used to light as soon as the device was switched on. Now, as you can presume, the connection test in target configuration, results in 'failure test'. I guess it is more hardware problem.

What can I do?

  • Hi Breno,

Can you check with the voltage levels on the board using DSO or any other instrument? Check whether the LDO is able to supply the required voltage to the mcu. Refer the schematics to get more details about the test points.

    Regards,
    Gautam
  • I'd like to try this. Instead of measuring the voltage levels, I borrowed the same experimenter kit from a friend of mine, which works fine, and I did as follows:

First, I removed my control CARD, then I put his control CARD on my USB docking station. Worked properly! All leds lighted. The CCS was able to recognize the target and it passed in the connection test. I ran a program without any problems.

After that, I did the opposite, I put my control CARD on his USB docking station and didn't work. Occur the same problems and the leds don't light.

I think it's clear that the control CARD doesn't work.
  • Yup, its very much clear that there's issue with your controlCard. Try replacing only your mcu first.
