Hi all,

i wish to produce some analog signals from the board (in order to test the ADC). i see 2 jumpers on the board called "DAC" but can't find any literature about them.

i found only "spraa8a.pdf" but it is about doing it with the PWM module. isn't there a simpler way to generate 0-3V analog signals?

Feel free to check out the links below. You can generate a sine/cosine wave with C2000. The math libraries included have sine and cosine functionality. So this can function as your analog signal.

Hi kyle,

i'm not looking for a sine wave- i want an analog output from the card that can be changed by program/user.

what are the two "DAC" pins that i seen on the board? how can i use them?

Hi Israel,

Only the F2837x family of devices have physical DACs but you can still obtain an analog signal from our other devices without physical DACs by using a PWM and LPF combination. The Low Pass Filter is essentially averaging the PWM duty cycle which is your analog output. What board are you using? If the board already labels some pins as DAC pins, then it probably already has the LPF on those PWM outputs.

Hi Isreal,

The Peripheral Explorer kit comes with a F28335 controlCARD. As Frank has suggested, the Peripheral Explorer kit is taking in a HRPWM input and filtering it to turn it into a DAC signal. Take a look at the schematics in controlSUITE for more information.
