Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28062F, TMS320F28054F, TMS320F28027F

I apologies if the thread has been  posted before ,but  went thought the forum and  have not noticed similar  thread yet.

Looking for the controller for LG Washer Motor Assembly AHL72914402, this is 3 phase brushless motor, operates on 120 V, I like to get the proper controller which would control the speed and Torque on the smart drive, Please advice

 Thanks

  • Hi,

A TI applications engineer has been assigned to help with your issue. US sites are currently closed due to the Thanksgiving Holiday, so responses may be delayed.

    Thanks and Regards,

  • TMS320F28027F is a good choice if the controller is only for motor drive, and TMS320F28054F or TMS320F28062F can control system and motor drive with single controller if need more GPIO and interface. All three device can support InstaSPIN-FOC algorithm which can be used for 3-phase BLDC sensorless or sensored control, to control speed and torque.
  • If you're looking to have an evaluation kit that will likely be able to spin your motor with the least effort, note the below.  This kit was designed to help show InstaSPIN.

If you not looking to use InstaSPIN (build/learn more yourself), the very similar kit below may be valid:

Just wanted to make sure you were aware.

    Thank you,

  • Thank you guys for getting me back ,Are this Controllers plug and play or i have to build the circuit board? I am looking for something easy to hook it up and controller the motor
  • Hi AJ,

TI sells chips for the most part - not really complete bolt-on solutions that can then be productized.  Instead, we provide evaluation kits to help present our value. For end-products, kits should be redesigned based on your product requirements after evaluation of the solution is completed - and tested accordingly.

That being said, the InstaSPIN HV kit I mentioned above is likely your closest avenue for spinning this motor.  Please note that some effort may still need to be put in (likely software).

I would recommend going through the kit information to make sure it's what you want before buying (documentation & sch & software).  The product page shows the path to get started with this kit & shows what you'll need to download.

    Thank you,
    Brett
