CCS/TMS320F28335: BQ32000 real time clock applicaiton with F28335

Hi, 

I am a TI DSP 28335 user. 

I am familiar with hardware design of DSP 28335/28020 application, like ePWM, ADC SCI and I2C circuits. 

I also do coding related functions. 

Now my boss asks me to let the DSP know the time and date to control electronic appliance on and off at specific time. 

I come across a TI chip BQ32000.

Is it good for this application? I need hardware design reference and software solutions for this applicaiton.
