I'm very new in the field of EtherCAT. I'm going to study about EtherCAT and I intend to buy TMS320F28388D. My question is "What else do I need to buy if I want to make a project with TMS320F28388D?"

Hello

If you get the controlCARD (https://www.ti.com/tool/TMDSCNCD28388D), then all you need is that and your PC. This will get you the basic EtherCAT master and 1 EtherCAT slave setup. They are connected through standard Ethernet cable.

You can see the software we have available in C2000Ware.

Additionally, https://www.ethercat.org/ has all the EtherCAT specs, information, etc for learning. These are not specific to C2000 devices.
