The controlCARD(TMDSCNCD28388D) uses DP83822 10/100M Ethernet PHY for EtherCAT communication. The PHY has low round trip ( TX+RX) latency of 242 ns and robust EMI/EMC performance. DP83826E/I as alternate 10/100M Ethernet PHY is also recommended for this design. DP83826E has further improved performance on Latency and deterministic latency of < 216 ns +/- 2ns and fixed XI to TX_CLK clock phase +/- 2ns and robust EMI/EMC performance making it suitable for real time application. Dushyant,

It would be best to ask this question on the PHY forum as we are not experts on the DP83xx devices. Nevertheless i pulled open their documentation and it does appear that the only difference between the devices is the temperature grade.

Also I found an e2e post saying the same.
