TMS320F280049: TMS320F280049 OSCCLK frequency detection

Part Number: TMS320F280049

Hi experts:

We have a new application requirement for TMS320F280049. We want to monitor the frequency drift of OSCCLK(external oscillator is selected). Furtherly, if the frequency drift is out of acceptable range, software protection should be done. I have learned that DCC can be used to detect clock frequency bust in most cases, OSCCLK is selected as Clock0. Is it possible to set OSCCLK as Clock1(which is under test)? And which clock can be selected as Clock0 in that case?

Thanks!

Best Regards

Meng

  • Hi Meng,

Yes it is possible to set INTOSC1 and INTOSC2 as Clock1, but XTAL can ONLY be set as Clock0. Currently it is not documented in the TRM but we will add that in next revision. Here are the configuration values for INTOSC1 & INTOSC2 as Clocksource1 for DCC.

    DCCCLKSRC1[3:0]:

    0x2 - INTOSC1

    0x3 - INTOSC2
