TIDA-01604: The calculation of the current loop

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-01604

Dear team,

My customer is using TIDA-01604. He wants to know the issue the calculation  of the current loop. Please help.

Why the current loop model and the calculations in the code are a little bit different (not considering the voltage drop of the inductor). The coefficients of the two formulas are not the same?

  • Susan,

the inductor voltage feedforward has a very small component in the control action, and actually on this design it did not impact the performance.

We ignored this affect while designing the control loop for the current.

This is pretty common in control design, one uses certaing assumptions to start and then add some additional components to observe the performance improvements.

We did considering removing that line from code for the inductor voltage feedforward , but decided to keep it to enable some customers who are trying to use this for 400Hz type of grid for ships etc.. (though this is not what we support this on our design)
