TMS320F28379D: The content of header files and source files

Part Number: TMS320F28379D

Hello.

I'm a beginner in programming. I have a question about the content of header files and source files. It's a little confusing.

I have read in the books that the function body should not put into the header file. However, as an example, in the ADC.h (in the C200ware) there are some function bodies. Besides, the #define macros should place in the header files. However, I have seen many source files in the TI examples that have #define macros in them.

Would someone please let me know what should be in the header file and what should be in the source file?

Regards.

  • Jake,

There is nothing restricting you from putting code in a header file or macros in a source file. It's a matter of programming style. You can run into problems if you are not careful though. There should be plenty of resources on the web that can better guide you.

As far as programming the F2837xD device, you can take a look at the workshop here. That should provide a good resource as you ramp up.
