LAUNCHXL-F28069M: LAUNCHXL-F28069M

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-F28069M

Hello,

I was trying to get familiar with TM320F28069 Controller.  In LAUNCHpad manual it  is mentioned the switch S1 should be kept in LHH to boot from flash.  But it works only when kept the switch position at HHH.

Is it the right settings to boot from flash?

Regards,

Ramesh

  • Ramesh,

Thanks for reaching out to the E2E forum.

HHH(or HHL if you don't want to connect the debugger) will boot to "GetMode" which reads a location in user OTP to determine the boot mode.  By default this will boot to flash as you have observed and is what you want to boot to flash.

LHH is wait boot mode, which is what we recommend if you intend to connect the debugger so that the device will not begin executing critical code or be in secure memory when you attempt to connect the debugger/CCS.  If you do nothing the device will stay in this "Waiting" state forever.

Can you send the link and relevant info on the document that says LHH for flash boot?  I'd like to get this corrected/clarified.

    Best,

    Matthew

  • The document is LAUNCHXL-F28069M user manual( SPRUI11B) -  section 5.3 Boot Mode Selection, Table 2. S1 Boot Mode Settings

    Emulation Boot (2) L H H
    Parallel IO L L L
    SCI H L L
    Wait L H L
    GetMode H H L

In the documentation there is no option of HHH.

    Ramesh

  • Ramesh,

Thanks for this, I'll see if we can clarify this a bit better in terms of what you need to do for both flash boot, as well as emulation access.
