TMS320F28379S: how to slow down three IO pulses' frequency (from external source) and output them for external use

Hi ti experts,

i have three external input IO pulses (which actual is ABZ encoders signals )with high frequency up to 6M Hz, Now it needs slow down their frequency by prescaler and then output them to external.

i check the ecap function from its technical document and find that it has precaler function but can not find how to output them for external use.

so, can you pls advise how to realize my function? looking forward to your feedback. thanks a lot.

What encoder and solution are you referencing? Are you modifying an existing solution or writing your own? More information would be helpful.

Dear Ozino,

the encoder is bought from the market company called "RENISHAW", and i am using the solution coming from "C:\ti\controlSUITE\device_support\F2837xS\v210\F2837xS_examples_Cpu1\eqep_pos_speed" . i add the related codes to my own project.

Now i can read the encoder value correctly and motor is running very well for a long time.

However, an external controller needs the same ABZ encoder signals but needs lower frequency, which needs be configured in software.

So, that's my question that how to slow down ABZ signals and then output them to external?

Feng,

Please take a look at the C2000 Position Manager PTO Library (SPRAC77B). Please reference the PTO QepDIV examples. I believe this should be able to address your question. The examples are found within the C2000Ware-MotorControl-SDK under the libraries/postion_sensing/pto directory

one more question: the input and output gpios(described in SPRAC77B)can be configured to other gpios? it does not mention in the doc.

Yes, you should be able to change the input and output gpios
