Hi,

I have used a TMS320F28069 for one of my projects and I am looking forward to implement, a remote firmware update feature.

I want to know what are the available methods to remotely update the firmware of the C2000 MCU.

Nisal,

Please refer to the app note sprabv4. This tells you how you can perform a remote firmware update over SCI (UART).

For the F2806x, C2000Ware contains a SCI Flash Kernel (i.e. bootloader for firmware update) at the following location (this path is mentioned in the app note as well in the Troubleshooting section)

C2000Ware_x_xx_xx_xx > device_support > f2806x > examples > c28 > f28069_sci_flash_kernel

Hi Sira,

Thank you for the reply. I have tried firmware updates over SCI and it works fine. However, in order to run the script you require a PC. I was wondering whether there is a way to update the firmware, for an example, using an ARM device with web connectivity.

Nisal,

You would need to then incorporate the serial flash programmer functionality into the ARM device. This is what a lot of customers do. Like your case, their "host" is another MCU - so they use our code as reference code, and build that functionality into their host MCU.
