TMS570LC4357: L2RAMW Auto-Initialization duration

Part Number: TMS570LC4357

Hello,

Can you please indicate what is the expected maximum duration of the L2RAMW Auto-Init sequence for TMS570LC4357ZWT.

I did find such duration information for the PBIST in the DataSheet, but not for auto-init sequence.

Thanks,

Franck.

  • Hello Frank,

You are correct that we do not include this information in the TRM or Datasheet. I have discussed it with one of our former design team members and they have explained that this mechanism divides the RAM into 16 "banks" of 32KB each. These "banks" are initialized 64+ECC bits at time in parallel. As such, it is expected that the initialization operation will take 4096 cycles to complete not including any overhead from software, CPU or bus latencies.

Again, as you have noted, we do not include this in our documentation anywhere and there are no plans to make this addition.
