Good day, dear developers.

I just started to use your device (TMS570LS31x4 - that's a name I suppose) so there are lots of thigs I did not understand.

In the manual i find the description of 8-words buffer, but i simply can't find how i can interact with it. Is this possible to use it?

Thank you in advance. But i'm not so god in speaking enghlish, so sorry if I had a grammar mistakes.

May I ask you to specify the document you are named as "manual"? Which module of pointed device you are targeting, ADC or some other?

It's called "tms570ls31x/21x 16/32-bit risc flash

Technical reference manual".

Actually i don't really know, which module i target, but it defenitely not ADC.

I meant buffers, which you can see at the bottom of the scheme 26-2. "SCI/LIN Block Diagtlram". Sorry, cant send a picture from the phone.

Hi Valeriy,
Did you install HalCoGen already ( www.ti.com/.../HALCOGEN ). With HalCoGen you can easily configure all MCU modules After that you can generate files (with configurations and functions) that can be used by Code Composer Studio ( www.ti.com/.../CCSTUDIO ).

My mentor said he cant find any option to do this.

Hi Vleriy,
Buffers, which you mentioned (8 recive and 8 transmit buffers - Figure 26-2) are used in SCI multi-buffered mode (Section 26.2.5 in device TRM (Technical reference manal) ). This mode is enabled by setting the MBUF MODE bit (bit 10) in the SCIGCR1 register. Using Multi-Buffer Mode will affect when RXRDY bit will be set (when all programmed number of data are received) or when the data will be transmitted (when all programmed number of SCITD are written).

You can receive data by: 1. Polling Receive Ready Flag (RXRDY); 2. Receive interrupt; 3. DMA
You can transmith data by: 1. Polling Transmit Ready Flag (TXRDY); 2. Receive interrupt; 3. DMA

Hello,

To reduce CPU load when Receiving or Transmitting data in interrupt mode or DMA mode, the SCI/LIN module has eight separate Receive and transmit buffers. Multi buffered mode is enabled by setting the MBUF MODE bit (bit 10 of GCR1). This feature is not covered by HALCoGen. You have to enable it manually.

Good time.
I still cant figure out, how to use this MBuf mode.

So i sending data byte by byte "manually" (like scilinREG->TD = 0xAA) and i can see it on oscillograph.

But when I'm enabling this mode (bit 10 of gcr1, as you said) oscillograph siply shows nothing.
Please, can you help me once again.

For using multi-buffered mode, MBUF MODE bit in GCR1 should be set, and LIN MODE is cleared. The LENGTH and CHAR in SCIFORMAT register should be programmed as well.
