LAUNCHXL2-TMS57012: TMS5701224 – Pin25 and Pin30 have big noise during extreme low temperature, -40deg.C

Part Number: LAUNCHXL2-TMS57012
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS5701224, TMS570LS1224

We use pin25 for a clock output and pin30 for a signal output. These two single are for Flash and FRAM. We find these signal can work normal in 25deg.C ~ -30deg.C, but it will fail in -40deg.C. We check the waveform that have big noise spike during pulse on/off. In the meantime, the high level voltage will drop from 3.3V to 3V. (We have check the VCC of pull high voltage is 3.3V.)

(1)at 25 degree C

(2)at -40 degree C

  • Gary,

The LaunchPad is a low-cost development kit that can be used for preliminary evaluations. As you can imagine the PCB layout and signal routing is not ideal for use in a real application. Besides, an SPI interface going out of the board over flying wires is non ideal, to say the least.

We do provide IBIS models for the TMS570LS1224 that you can use to simulate the interface to the slave devices given your PCB conditions. You can download these models from this page: www.ti.com/.../toolssoftware
