TMS570LC4357-EP: PWM signal information

Part Number: TMS570LC4357-EP

Hello Expert,

In TMS570LC4357-EP there are 7 PWM modules, each module have two signals A and B (PWM1A , PWM1B ... PWM7A, PWM7B). Kindly let me know whether we can use single output. If yes for high side which one is preferable. In datasheet its not clearly mentioned. What are these A and B signals how we can use them?

Thanks and Regards,

Vikas H

  • Hi Vikas,

That is correct, each module supports two "independent" signals. Each signal will have its own Compare Register but both will share the same period counter. You can use either one for your application. Below is just one simple illustration. The period counter can be setup as a up-down counter that will allow you to create symmetrical PWMs or just either an up or down counter that can create asymmetrical PWM.
