TMS570LC4357: How to turn off the Clocksource of STC1?

Hello Hercules Support-Team,

We are currently only doing a STC-test during startup and want to make sure, that the STC1 and STC2 are turned of properly during normal operation. For this, we disable the STC1 and STC2. Aditionaly we want to use clock gating to disable the CLK to STC1 via PCR1.

(Q1) How can the CLK of the STC1 be switched off?

(Q2) Can all peripherals that are controlled by PCRx be separately disabled by turning of the their CLK source in PCRx?

Hi Max,

Yes, you are right.

FTU, HTU1, HTU2 and peripherals' memory can also be powered down separately.

Hello QJ,

In the image you posted, are only peripherals from PCR3 displayed. But based on your answer, I understand, that I can turn off STC1 and STC2 after initial testing during boot, by turning of their CLK source in PCR1.

Is that correct?

Hello Max,

I am sorry I thought you use TMS570LS3137 which has only 1 PCR. TMS570LC43x has 3 PCRs. PCR1 is for the privileged peripherals, and those privileged peripherals can not be powered down using power down registers.
