Hi there,
I am having trouble sourcing a TMDX570LS12CNCD. Do TI have any replacement product for it?
Thanks for reading, any reply is appreciated.

Hello,
This control card is no longer supported and is not available anymore. You can get a LaunchPad (https://www.ti.com/tool/LAUNCHXL2-TMS57012 ) along with a DRV8301 (https://www.ti.com/tool/BOOSTXL-DRV8301 ) or DRV3245 (https://www.ti.com/tool/BOOSTXL-DRV3245AQ1 ) boosterpack to implement / demonstrate safe motor control.
Hi Sunil,
Thanks for the reply. Is there any demo TI CCS project for LAUNCHXL2-TMS57012 + BOOSTXL-DRV8301? I have tried to look into ControlSUITE and C2000 but can't find anything
I have found an old post related to the program: BOOSTXL-DRV8301: Motor Control Software for TMS570LS12xx Launchpad + DRV8301 Booster pack - Motor drivers forum - Motor drivers - TI E2E support forums. But the link within is dead. Is there any replacement?
Also the pin between BOOSTXL-DRV8301 and LAUNCHXL2-TMS57012 doesn't seems to match up? LAUNCHXL2-TMS57012's pin to BOOSTXL-DRV8301's IC-FB is empty and no LAUNCHXL2-TMS57012's PWM pin to BOOSTXL-DRV8301 PWM-BH, BL, CH, CL? Am I reading it wrong? I have attach the pinout of both board here for your reference:
BOOSTXL-DRV8301's pinout:
LAUNCHXL2-TMS57012 pinout:
Hello,
You can download Hercules Motorware demo code projects from here: https://git.ti.com/cgit/hercules_examples/hercules_examples/tree/Application/motorware?h=master
This demo projects are written for the TMDX570LS12CNCD so they would need modification before they can be run on the LaunchPad + BoosterPack combination. You can run the control algorithm as-is with the correct modifications made for the ADC input channels and PWM outputs.
Looks like our posts crossed. The correct code to the demo projects is in my previous post.
The LaunchPad (LP) connects to the BoosterPack (BP) via the headers shown in your post. The PWM signals on this header are wired to N2HETx terminals on the LP. If you want to use ePWMx modules to generate the required PWM signals, you will need to connect "blue" wires from the connectors on the LP outer edge to the BP connectors. This is not convenient, but not very difficult.
The other option is to use N2HET to generate the PWM signals.
Hi Sunil,
Thank you for such quick reply! They are really informative.
But how about BOOSTXL-DRV8301's IC-FB pin? The pin from LAUNCHXL2-TMS57012 to IC-FB is empty.
Sorry probably dumb question but how to download motorware from the the link in ur previous reply? I tried to download it with some downloader software but the file size just keep ballooning.
Hello,
The boosterpack standard defines some pins as "reserved". Unfortunately some boosterpack definitions did not follow this "standard" and used these reserved pins for required signals, such as IC-FB. See below picture of the required standard that was defined for these headers.
In this case, you will also have to wire the IC-FB pin from BP header to the desired ADC input channel on the "edge" connector on the LP.
As for downloading the example projects, the best method is to clone the entire "hercules_examples" repository. You can find the instructions at the bottom of the page here: https://git.ti.com/cgit/hercules_examples/hercules_examples/
