MSP-EXP430FR2355: GUI code composer serial port detection issue

serial port not detecting with target device

Hi Leo,

yes i tried with example code.when i open in gallery i can run the code and serial port get connected. refer image below

when ever i import to gui composer after run the code serial port didn't get connected to target device . refer image below

Just to confirm:

1. You downloaded the project for the FR2355 Launchpad and built this with Code Composer to Flash the Launchpad successfully?

2. When you disconnect and reconnect the launchpad, you can see a UART device in your device manager?

Which version of Code Composer did you use?

1.yes,i can flash the code successfully.

2.yes,i can see the uart device in UART MANAGER

 Version: 10.3.1.00003 code composer i am using.

Can you provide the link to the CCS project you are building/flashing? Is this from resource explorer?  I want to make sure you are building the project that corresponds to the GUI you are trying to connect with.

From within the GUI project can you try downloading the firmware to your Launchpad as indicated below?

• The firmware can be downloaded in this GUI by selecting File -> Program Device...

yeah i did that,it does not make connection with ti cloud agent.

It looks like you are having an internet connection problem. I have tried going to the GUI here:

and it successfully downloaded to the Launchpad on my side.  Is your internet connection through a corporate network?

Hi Dinesh,

It's not clear to me why you're not able to connect to the cloud agent.  Are you using Chrome? (I tested with Chrome here.)

yes leo, i am using chrome but its working perfetly with ccs cloud in that i can debug the program using ti cloud agent.

Hi Dinesh,

Can you check the jumpers on your Luanchpad? There are two jumpers labeled RXD/TXD that have to be populated. Do you have more than one Launchpad? Can you confirm that the project that you built and flashed to the platform is this one?

yeah,from above link i can flash the program  to launch pad and run .

only problem i have was while importing project iam unable to connect with target device you can refer below link  for importing project and i have only one launch pad

Hi Dinesh,

I have to conclude that if you can flash the program but can't connect via UART(after resetting the Launchpad) that there must either be some hardware problem with your Launchpad - or some configuration on your computer which is keeping GUI composer from connecting over the UART.  You might try connecting to the Launchpad with a terminal emulator and send it some commands to rule out a problem with the Launchpad.

No while i run example code in gallery it works perfectly,only when i import example code to my projects in gui composer unable to flash program,unable to connect to serial port.
