Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5529
hi
I wondered if there is a app/GUI/tool for configuring GPIOs in the MSP430 on-the-fly and for toggling outputs etc..
If not, is there any API for the Spy-bi to wrap it with a customized GUI..

I am not sure that something like this exist, but it can be made easily (based on UART interface) on any LP because virtual COM port hardware connection between PC and target device exist.
Of course, everything (including controlling ports on target device) can be done by SBW interface (there is mailbox data exchange too), but (custom solution based on SBW master like in slau320) is far from simple.
Hello Shimon,
We don't have something like that exactly, but like Zrno mentioned, it could be implemented pretty easily with the virtual COM port. You could look at implementing this in GUI Composer. See the documentation below.

In the GUI Composer Gallery, where GUIs can be shared, there is one for the MSP430F5529 and MSP430G2 which allows some simple toggling of GPIO for LEDs. This would give you the basis for toggling GPIO using GUI composer.

the interface between my board (MSP430) and the PC is only SBW and (by making some HW modifications) UCB0-I2C... not working with the EVB so the virtual com is not relevant.. so my only option is to develop code in the MSP and a GUI.. Thanks!
