Hi,

Good Day. I have a customer who is working with MSP430FG439. Please see below his query for your reference. Thank you very much.

I have only evaluation license for IAR EW - MSP430 v7.21 to download the software....but unfortunately, my board can only use the old version like v5.9.x to download the code

the problem is I can't get the old version IAR EW unless I purchase the commercial license

But now I am at evaluation stage only. No budget for sgd 6k+ commercial license.

You side have any old version Workbench IDE for me with evaluation license key ( older than 6.x.x)? Make sure it is for MSP430, and with evaluation license key

    Hello Ray,

    We do not have any path to help the customer with older versions of IAR. They would have to work directly with IAR for that kind of support.

    That being said, we do offer Code Composer Studio (CCS) , full functionality, for free. The customer can get started today with CCS or even do a quick evaluation with CCS Cloud @ dev.ti.com .

    Noted about the CCS. Unfortunately, my original project is written for IAR Assembler(.S43). It is a pain for me to convert to CCS. Also, IAR not allow us to download the old versions unless we have the commercial license of any version. That’s why I am looking for a solution to get the old version of IAR without payment the license fee at the evaluation stage.

    I heard from distributor saying that TI FAE may have the evaluation license for all versions of IAR. Do I have a luck to get it from any other channels?

    Ray,

    As stated before, we don't have a path here for the customer on older versions of IAR. They need to work with IAR for this. I would advise getting the newest free version and converting.
