MSP-FET: No USB FET was found - Can't reflash DRV91670T using CCSv6.1.2

Part Number: MSP-FET
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5438, UNIFLASH

I have already installed the DRV91670T sdk according to: Code Composer Studio and Software Development Kit Installation for Texas Instrument’s DRV9x Motor Drivers, and also the patch for the MSP-FET mentioned here: [FAQ] MSP-FET: SOLUTION: Using newer MSP-FETs with older CCS or IAR versions - MSP low-power microcontroller forum - MSP low-power microcontrollers - TI E2E support forums

I keep getting the "No USB FET was found" error when trying to start a debug session and also when creating a new project and selecting the "identify" button in the "connection" section. In the later case, if I select other MSP device rather than the DRV91670T I get a different error: "Could not set device Vcc". A MSP-FET firmware update wasn't prompted by CCSv6, but I upgraded it using MSP430Flasher.exe and still getting the same error.

MSP is detected by device manager and by MSP430Flasher.exe.

According to datasheet, DRV91670T instruction set is compatible with TI’s MSP430F5438 family of devices, so I have tried to reflash the DRV91670T using a .hex file and Uniflash and MSP430Flasher.exe but with no success, both of them give "unknown device" errors, and when trying to autodetect the MSP-FET using uniflash it says "No debug probes/devices detected".

In summary, how can I setup an environment where I can use MSP-FET to reflash DRV91670T or DRV9x devices? Can I use CCSv10 to reflash a DRV91670T? Thanks.
