Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSPWARE
As a disclaimer, I am a student so this is likely a bad question.
I am looking to use one of the MSP430FR2xxx parts in a project, however I noticed that in order to download MSPWare I need to fill out an export control form. One of the requirements for my project is that the code be open source; is this still possible while using MSPWare libraries? To be clear, I would not be reposting anything from the libraries themselves, only the code I write and my interface to the libraries. On a similar note, am I allowed to distribute executables that contain compiled MSPWare libraries or; hardware that is pre-loaded with executables generated using MSPWare? My intuition is this should be possible, otherwise it would be quite difficult to sell products using the MSP430 line of microcontrollers. I have done some research online regarding ITAR I don't think these chips meet the requirements to be controlled on the USML, and I have not seen ITAR restrictions on other non-military and non-space-grade microcontrollers, but maybe I am missing something.
