Hi,

I'm using MSP430FG6626 MCU.

Attached schematics which I have captured from the reference document SLAU278AH.

For detailing the schematics I used page 169 of document SLAU278AH.

I power up the board and connected the USB port to system/laptop.

Tried connecting it using UniFlash tool. I was under the assumption that MSP430FG6626 comes with boot loader and by MCU_SCH.pdfdirectly connecting the USB tool we can program the IC.

When I connect using UniFlash tool the target is not recognized.

Error I get is " "Fatal Error:Could not find device " Error in MSP-FET and MSP430"

Could you please confirm if I need to procure "MSP-FET" MCU Programmer & Debugger ?

Does MSP430FG6626 can be programmed directly without MSP-FET Programmer? Please clarify

Hi Phani,

You do not need the MSP-FET to use BSL on this device. For this device it can use USB BSL which allows you to directly connect to the PC like you did. Did you invoke the BSL before running UniFlash?

Hi Phani,

It seems that you might need the MSP-FET, on the MCU side you can program the BSL through USB but using UniFlash looks like the MSP-FET is needed.
