MSP430I2040: Query regarding bootloader for MSP430I2040

Part Number: MSP430I2040
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-FET

Hi,

I have written software for MSP430I2040 EVM and am waiting for the actual custom hardware based on the MSP430I2040 chip. In addition to the application software written for the MSP430I2040S, do I need any other software/tools to load the sw on to the MSP430I2040 on the custom hw, using Spy Bi-Wire interface?

regards,

Rajkumar

  • Hello Rajkumar,

Typically, one would use the MSP-FET programmer/debugger.  Depending on how you intend to edit, compile, debug and program your code, you can do all from within the Code Composer Studio, or IAR Workbench. Both are IDE (integrated development environments).

Another programming only option is  Uniflash software that is a GUI that can program the target device with a compiled firmware image.  This is used more in production environments where you are programming devices one after another.

    Does this help?
