Hi,

I am developing a card with msp430f249mpmep micro controller.

I use with UART protocol at a baud rate of 430.2Kbps and with internal ADC.

The micro controller will operate in a wide temperature range: -55 deg to 105 deg.

Is it possible to use the internal clock 16Mhz? or I have to connect an external clock at frequency 16MHz?

If I need to connect an external clock, you may recommend For an oscillator component?

Hi Mor,

Based on the MSP430F249 datasheet page 44 Calibrated DCO frequencies-overall tolerance. The DCO frequency will be from 15MHz to 17MHz with temperature range from -40 deg to 105 deg. It might cause more errors in UART with a 460.9k baud rate. Using an external clock might help to lower the errors. You can try with some low PPM crystals.

Do you have a recommendation for an external clock 16MHz?

Or a electrical drawing of evaluation board with MSP430 that 16MHz crystal Oscillator connected external to MSP430F249?

I do not have an part number of a crystal in mind for your application. However, like I said, you can try with some low PPM crystals.
