MSP430F2619: The device gets hot during ADC operation

Part Number: MSP430F2619
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-TS430PM64, MSP-TS430PN80

Hi,

My customer reported that the device gets hot (60C to 70C) while ADC 8 channels are used.
If ADC is disabled, the device temperature is 30C to 40C.
Is this expected?

Here are customer's usecase:
ADC input voltage range is 0 to +3.3V for all channels.
Mode used is "Supply Voltage and Reference Voltage Design Vref-/VeREF- = AVss, Internally Connected".

Pin#10: Vref+/DAC0 is connected to GND through two bypass capacitors.
Pin#11: Vref-/Veref- is open.
DAC is not used.

Do you see any issues in customer usage?

Thanks and regards,
