MSP430F5515: Finding a CODEC to use with MSP430Fxxx processors

We are looking at these processors -
MSP430F5515 , MSP430F5632, MSP430F5519

And these CODECs -

PCM3070IRHBR, TLV320AIC3253IRGER, TLV320AIC33IRGZR, TLV320AIC3253IRGET

I am looking for confirmation of the interface between the CODEC and the processor. Trying to match up the data sheets, it's not clear to me if they will work, as pin names & port types seem to conflict. Or I'm misreading something.

I need at least one combination that will work. All of the processors have what is needed for the project in other areas, as do the CODECs.

Hi David,

Thanks for your detailed question. The microcontrollers you've selected should support common communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, and I2C. Looking at Figure 1 in the TLV320AIC3253 datasheet, I see there is a control block interface that can be SPI or I2C depending on the control mode selected. I didn't look at the other CODECs, but they should have similar interfaces.

Hi James,
I forwarded this information to our software guy, he is asking the following - Their answer said "control block interface" which means the device can be configured using that interface. I looked at figure 1 - it shows DIN and DOUT going through I2S interface blocks. Can you ask them specifically if there's a way to use I2C or SPI to send/receive sound data?
