MSP430F5342: MSP430F5342IRGZT alternative

Part Number: MSP430F5342

Dear TI Customer Support,

there are problem with the availability of the MSP430F5342IRGZT mcu mounted on a low power device.

Having no detailed knowledge of TI processor families, maybe you can help and speed up the search of the most suitable alternatives.

The best but may not feasible solution would be to have a fully compatible mcu without having the need to distinguish the firmware from devices that currently mount MSP430F5342 mcu.

Thanks for support,

Dennis G.

  • Hi Dennis,

    It looks like same devices that share a datasheet are also out of stock currently. If you can give me some part requirements (ex. # of I2C, # of SPI, # of UART, ADC requirements) I might be able to assist in choosing an available replacement.

    Some other places that can help in choosing a similar device is looking at the Family's User Guide for the part, as they tend to be similar parts functionally.

    Another place is on our MSP Product Page. Here, you can filter out devices based on your requirements.

    Regards,

    Luke

  • Hi Luke,

    MSP Product Page is a good way to filter desired mcu requirements, thanks for sharing information.

    Having the need for an mcu pin to pin compatible, I just set the following filters:

    • TI inventory: >= 1
    • Number of pins: =48
    • Non-volatile memory: >= 128 [KB]

    Without going into detail with other filters, the results is that the mcus currently in stock with these criteria are only part of the MSP430FR599x.

    The 48-pin RGZ package pinout of MSP430FR599x is different as the desired MSP430F534x one.

    So seems that a MSP430F5342IRGZT pin to pin compatible mcu is currently not available.

    Best regards,

    Dennis G.
