CCSTUDIO-MSP: CCS cannot install MSP430 and MSP432

Hi team,

When running the CCS 11.0.00012 installer, the MSP430 or MSP432 components cannot be installed and an error is reported, then exit. The error message is as follows:

CCS_ERROR: Unable to install repotype executable

The application will exit now.

However, the C2000 components can be installed properly. The operating system is Windows 11, Professional Insider Preview Dev 22509.1011 This installation file is capable of installing the MSP430 or MSP432 components on previous Windows 11 before reinstalling the system. The install log is as follows:

Hi Cherry,

Try to install the CCS at default path.

The customer has tried to install CCS, and it also reports the same error.

Hello Cherry,

Note that CCS 11.0 does not officially support Windows 11. The upcoming CCS 11.1 release will be the first version to support Windows 11.

With that said, many users have been able to get CCS 11.0 working on Windows 11. The install error you see is a fairly common error that we have seen before with the installer for the MSP430 components and unrelated to Windows 11. We have tried several things to prevent this issue from happening but so far they have been unsucessful.
