MSP-EXP430G2ET: FET driver MSP430_FET_Drivers 1_0_1_1-64bit Linux Issue

Hello Team,

My Customer downloaded the MSP430 dev board drivers for the 64-bit Linux platform.

They unzipped this file, inside is ti_msp430driver_setup_1.0.1.1.bin -- however, it is a 32-bit binary and will not run on there system:

$ file ./ti_msp430driver_setup_1.0.1.1.bin 
./ti_msp430driver_setup_1.0.1.1.bin: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), 
dynamically linked, interpreter /lib/ld-linux.so.2, for GNU/Linux 2.2.5, stripped

Running the binary gives the following:

$ ./ti_msp430driver_setup_1.0.1.1.bin 
-bash: ./ti_msp430driver_setup_1.0.1.1.bin: No such file or directory

Can you share with us a correct 64-bit installer?

Hi Renan,

It might be good to try the latest version here: https://www.ti.com/tool/download/MSPDS-USB-DRIVERS

However, I was able to confirm that the file was created for 32-bits, so I don't know if it will fix your issue. A bug was filed internally but it won't be easily available.

On the other hand, I tried it on my 64-bits system and it worked OK. What Ubuntu version and processor are you using?

I'm seeing that this is not an uncommon issue and a few workarounds are proposed in forums. I.e.

sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libc6:i386 libncurses5:i386 libstdc++6:i386
./file-name

Would you be able to try some of these workarounds?

Hello Luis,

My customer is using OpenSUSE (not Ubuntu), and it does not seem like OpenSUSE has a corresponding command to Debian/Ubuntu's 'dpkg --add-architecture i386'.Hopefully a true 64-bit driver becomes available at some point
