Hi Team,

My customer has issues with the latest Captivate Design Center on Windows 11.

After he starts the tool, he has problems with the graphical user interface.

My customer thinks that this might be an issue of the Java Runtime environment, so he tried a different version:

And he modified the environment variables as well:

JAVA_HOME

Do you have any idea to solve the problem?

Hi Jan,

This is the first I have heard of this. The Windows 11 release is recent and the last time Captivate was validated was over a year ago on Win 10.

I've reached out to our SW team for guidance.

Hi Jan,

From the directory where you have the captivate design center installed, type the following:

java -Djava.library.path=./HidManagement/ -jar CapTIvateDesignCenter.jar -deviceconfigpath ./DeviceConfig/ -debug 5

Capture a screen shot and post it.

Hello Dennis,

I am the customer Jan is referring to.

It seems to work now. Shall I then open the Design Center always with the command you suggested instead of executing the exe-file?

For now, if that is the only way you can make it work - sure. I'll provide your observation and screen shot back to our SW team.

I'll keep this posting open in the chance that our SW comes back with something else for you to try.

Our SW team says it might have something to do with the .exe created by the installer. They will look into this at first chance they get. In the mean time, see if get to work without the debug and let me know if that works for you. If it does, you will need to do it this way until we get the problem fixed.

Ok, another update. The SW team found out that installBuilder just released support for Win 11.

We will be releasing a new Captivate Design Center in Q1 this year, so it will have the fix.
