MSP430FR2311: MSP430FR2xxx series operating voltage and DCO frequency

Part Number: MSP430FR2311

Hi,

If the power supply voltage is 2.0V, is it possible to operate the DCO at 16MHz ?

If you have any information about MSP430FR2311 like the table of "DCO Frequency" (list of power supply voltage and frequency) in "Main DCO Characteristics" of MSP430F20xx data sheet (SLAS491I), please let me know.

Thank you

  • Hi

There is no table list the DCO and operate voltage. Is there any problem at this situation? I think DCO at 16M could work at 2V.

  • Hi

    Allen san

The MSP430F2xxx series required a 3.0V supply voltage to use the DCO at 16MHz.
I thought that the DCO of MSP430FR2311 also had some power supply conditions, so I asked.

When I contacted the TI Customer Support, I received the following answers, and for more information, I would like them to contact us via E2E.

To ensure safe operation of the MSP430FR2311, we recommend operating at a maximum permissible system frequency (fsys) of 3 V or higher, as you have contacted.

  • Some Flash device real have the requirements that the power supply must meet the frequency. I don't find any requirement in datasheet. I think FR2133 (which is FRAM technology) don't need to consider it.
