MSP-FET430UIF: Programmer not detected

Hello E2E,

Our customer is evaluating our MSP430F series controllers and bought one MSP-FET430UIF MSP430 USB Debugging Interface. The debugger was working perfectly but today it just stopped working, LEDs are not turning on. They have tried reinstalling CCS, and reinstalling its driver and the device is not responding. There was no LED indication on the programmer and it is not listed in the device manager. The customer also tried connecting the device to another computer but it has the same problem.

Hi,

It seems the UIF is broken. Can you try another MSP-UIF ? Or you can measure the power of the UIF to check whether it still works.

Hello Allen,

The customer doesn't have another MSP-FET430UIF. On connecting with the target board, the target board is getting on.

Are there any other items to check or is the device broken?

Hi Carlo,

The two LEDs don't light? Is there any problem with the power? Did customer check with the cable/ or USB port? Do you know what operation did customer do before UIF can't work?
