CCSTUDIO-MSP: Can't set breakpoints in Linked Source Files

Hi all.

I'm running ccs version for ubuntu

This was working one day then not. I can't set breakpoints in linked C source files - the main file is ok.

In the llinked file, the right click in the left hand indexed column shows the drop down with "build selected files" instead of "breakpoint"

If I set a breakpoint in the main file to hit the linked file, the linked file breakpoint is hit, but I can't look at variables and right click to unset the breakpoint brings the wrong (build selected) drop down.

  • Hi Bob,

First things first, can you unplug the device you are using, close CCS and try the process again?

Next, I'd like to understand if this problem is specific to your project or is related to your CCS installation. Can you try to reproduce this setup in a new project, in a new workspace?

  • I terminated, unplugged, replugged, reopened but no success with setting breakpoints outside of the main file.

I created a new workspace and copied and pasted (the project name automatically changed with the number 2 postpended to the original name),

but no success with setting breakpoints outside of the main file.

  • Did you copy and paste the entire CCS project into the new workspace? I'd like to understand whether the problem is in the project itself or with the CCS installation. The CSS project will contain a lot of configuration metadata that could be related to your issue. Can you try creating a clean project that has the bare minimum need to create breakpoints outside of a the main file? Also, if you have version control of the project (and you track all the project resource included the CCS configuration files) can you role back the code and test it there?

  • hi,

I opened a different pre-exisiting project, could set breakpoints, then closed that project and reopened the problem projects and COULD SET BREAKPOINTS!
