MSP430F6746: MSPWare security vulnerabilities

Part Number: MSP430F6746
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSPWARE

Hi,

My customer wants to check MSPWare security vulnerabilities especially in aes.c.
Are there any unpublished issues and not fixed yet in the latest version 3.80.14.0?
(all discovered issues are already fixed?)

BTW, the customer knows below advisories list and wants to make sure there is no items which was already discovered, but not listed here.

Thanks and regards,

  • Hi

sorry for reply late. In this web, they don't list all the vulnerabilities, you may need to contact with psirt@ti.com for the specific information you want to know.

  • Hi Allen,

I see. I contacted the mailing list and got below answer.

"There are no known undocumented security vulnerabilities with MSPWare. Now the “aes.c” file they are inquiring about, is only an example of how to utilize the AES hardware modules within select devices utilizing DriverLib. It is not a security solution. Any issues with the AES HW would be documented within the device specific errata document."

    Thanks and regards,
    Koichiro Tashiro
