i planing to design ultrasonic oxygen flow sensor. and we selected ultrasonic transducer is 40Khz ,200Khz, 300Khz so may question is can MSP430FR6043 support 40Khz transducer ? and which minimum frequency Transducer support MSP430fr6043 .

Hi Kuldeep,

For gas metering the range of frequencies supported on this device are 133kHz to 2.5MHz.

Please refer to slaa837a 'FAQ on ultrasonic sensing technology and water and gas metering with MSP430FR604x MCUs', Question 14.

Also, for ultrasonic for oxygen metering, refer to slaa976, "Oxygen concentration sensing".

Hi Dennis,

It's any way to possible used 40KHz transducer with MSP430FR6043 ? because we try to used 40KHz traducer for our Oxygen concentration application.

Hi Kuldeep,

Additionally to sla976, you can also check our gas flow reference design (TIDM-02003). Our system and algorithm will give you great performance even with the higher attenuations of higher excitation frequencies. Additionally for size constrained applications, higher frequencies are preferred.

Any specific reason why you are constrained to 40kHz?

many available air oxygen concentrator sensor used 40khz piezo transducer . and also 40khz transducer easily available in our local market . that's why i am asking to used that.

Hi Kuldeep,

Since the MSP430FR6047 can only support frequencies down to 133kHz, this solution is not going to work for you.

There are other TI options for this application. Have you looked at the TDC1011 single channel Ultrasonic AFE, https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tdc1011.pdf
