MSP430FR5969-SP: Package height tolerance

Hi Team,

Good day.

May i know what is the package height tolerance for the HTQFP (M4FR5969SPHPT-MLS) variant of the device?

On the device datasheet, only the max height of 1.2mm is given. Our customer wanted to know the minimum to maximum value of pkg height along with the tolerance.

Hi Art,

Can you help us understand why the minimum height information is needed? I haven't heard of a minimum height requirement. Usually only max info is needed to verify clearance in their design.

Hi Tim,

According to the customer, he needs to pull heat from the component and will have a gap pad between that and the mounting enclosure. So he need to know component tolerance so that he can properly size the gap pad.
