MSP430FR2633: NA

Part Number: MSP430FR2633
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-FET,

I need to use all GPIO pins from MSP430FR2633. That means I need to share jtag with gpio pins. According to the datasheet, Test pin should set high to enable jtag and pulled down to GND for GPIO. I am using MSP-FET to program the device and my question is does MSP-FET automatically enable 3.3V to Test Pin which is pin 8. I checked the MSP-FET datasheet but wasn't able to find the definite answer. Thanks in advance.

  • Hello,

The TEST and RST pins are not muxed with GPIO functionality. As such, you can utilize them for 2-wire JTAG (SBW), and still have full debug and programming functionality.  If you have your debug circuit wired up in SBW mode, the MSP-FET will detect that and utilize SBW mode for debug and programming.

In application, you can set the traditional JTAG capable pins to GPIO functionality.
