MSP430I2031: Is it possible to calibrate without MSP-EM-DESIGN-CENTER tool?

Part Number: MSP430I2031
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-EM-DESIGN-CENTER

Hello there.

i'm getting a lot of help from you. Thank you

I'm developing a power metering module using msp430i2031.

and the interface has been changed from the UART to I2C.

so i have a question here.

currently, to calibrate its voltage and current, etc., i hvae to use MSP-EM-DESIGN-CENTER, but I know that it only supports UART Interface (via HID USB) method.

so i was wondering if there is any other way to calibrate it without this software(MSP-EM-DESIGN-CENTER). Or do I have to connect the I2C interface with the MSP-EM-DESIGN-CENTER?

please answer about my question.

Thank you

  • Hi DongGyu,

EMDC (MSP-EM-DESIGN-CENTER) only supports UART Interface, so it will run error connected via I2C.

You can calibrate it without EMDC (MSP-EM-DESIGN-CENTER), and you should define your own variable and communication protocol for it.

And also you can refer to user's guide about how EMDC implement.

    Best Regards

    Sal
