MSP-EXP430F5529LP: USB Connection issues

Part Number: MSP-EXP430F5529LP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8323

Hello... I'm using an MSP-EXP430F5529LP MCU connected to a TI Motor Driver EVM (DRV83x3Rs), to spin a BLDC Motor.

For almost a year, the MCU, EVM and system worked flawlessly, while connected to my laptop#1 via USB.

A few months ago, the MCU stopped working on this same laptop#1.

I tried different USB ports on laptop#1, but no luck. I checked the USB drivers, and they were all the same w/no recent update.

I tried connecting the MCU standalone to laptop#1 (to eliminate any contribution from the EVM), and still no luck, with the MCU being recognized by the laptop.

I also uninstalled/reinstalled the GUI software (BOOSTXL-DRV8320_DRV8323) from laptop#1, and re-ran the GUI.. but still nothing.

I then checked/confirmed that the  MCU was still operational, by installing the GUI/Software on another laptop#2, so it's not damaged.

I then connected another MCU #2 (same MSP-EXP430F5529LP), from the DRV8353Rs module (ISO-F28027F) to laptop#2, and everything worked.

I tried connecting the MCU#2 to the original laptop#1, and nothing worked.

By now, I've confirmed that the issue with with laptop#1.

I contacted my IT department, to understand whether any driver or security updates that were installed, could have restricted the USB access.. to which they responded NO.

Nonetheless, they looked into the issue for ~2 weeks, and even reached out to TI tech support separately.. but the matter was not resolved.

While doing some research on another issue, I came across an excerpt in SLAU533D sec 3.5.9, that appear to be capturing the issue that I'm experiencing.. but I'd like to get some clarification and assistance with resolving this.

I've attached a file containing screen shots and images of the errors.

Let me know if you need anything else, that will help me resolve this issue.
