MSP-FET: msp-fet430uif

Part Number: MSP-FET
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430FR6047,

Tool/software:

Hello Texas Instruments Community,

I’m encountering an issue when connecting my MSP-FET430UIF debug interface to my MSP430FR6047 microcontroller. Every time I attempt to start a debug session, I receive the following error:

"Error initializing emulator: Could not set device Vcc."

Steps I’ve Tried So Far:

  1. Checked Connections: I verified that all the physical connections between the MSP-FET430UIF and the MSP430FR6047 are secure and correctly aligned.
  2. Firmware Update: I tried updating the firmware for the MSP-FET430UIF as suggested, but the error still persists.
  3. Voltage Check: I measured the voltage output from the MSP-FET430UIF, but it does not seem to provide power to the target device (the MSP430FR6047).
  4. Restarted Setup: I disconnected and reconnected all components, as well as restarting my computer, but the issue remains.

Issue:

The MSP-FET430UIF is not supplying power to the MSP430FR6047, preventing me from debugging the device. I’ve followed common troubleshooting steps without success, and I would appreciate any suggestions on how to resolve this problem.

Has anyone else encountered a similar issue or can offer advice on further steps I can take? Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance for your support.

Best regards,

  • Hi faizan Ashraf

Please check "3.5 Using the Power Supply Feature of the MSP-FET430UIF and MSP-FET" of MSP Debuggers

All MSP debug probes can supply targets with up to 100 mA through pin 2 of the 14-pin JTAG connector

Please check the connection of this pin between FET and target MCU

    Thanks!
