May I have question about electrical specificetion of MAP430I20xx clock?

I think this device can use external ocillator for main clock.

The input port is CLKIN.

I find only frequency specification in DS.

I believe ocillator output (MSP430 input allowed) should be in 0 to 3.3V (Vss to Vcc).

Is there any provisions of rise and fall times?

In clock, riseing time of 0V -> 3.3V, and falling time of 3.3V -> 0V.

I don't see a spec, but it passes through the Schmitt Trigger which should clean up the edges.

Hello GR,

First, the i204x can support an external digital clock signal but not an external crystal. I just want to clarify that as I've seen customers use "external oscillator" for both.

As Keith mentioned, the digital signal will come in through an I/O Port so you can look at that section for more details about the required thresholds, but basically, it should be a 0-3.3V digital square wave.
