EVM430-FR6047: Inquiry about the EVM and Ultrasonic transducers

Dear Support Team,

We are currently exploring solutions for non-invasive water flow measurement inside pipes.
We are particularly interested in the EVM430-FR6047 evaluation module for its ultrasonic sensors interfacing capabilities. I have few questions regarding its compatibility and usage with non-invasive (clamp-on) ultrasonic transducers:

Can the EVM430-FR6047 be used with clamp-on transducers to measure water flow in a non-invasive manner? Like the transducer in this link for example (Datasheet for transducer is here):
https://www.badgermeter.com/en-gb/products/meters/ultrasonic-flow-meters/tfx-5000-ultrasonic-clamp-on-flow-meter .Basically, we want to measure the flow directly from the transducers without using the flow meter.
If so, could you please provide examples on the non-invasive transducers that are compatible with the EVM430-FR6047?

Any additional documentation or resources you could provide on setting up and using the EVM430-FR6047 with non-invasive transducers would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, thanks for reaching out! I think maybe this a similar application to what you are referring to that uses the same hardware you are referring to.

Thank you for your answer. However, the mentioned sensor contacts the water directly, not the wall of the pipe. The pipe wall might be copper or PVC, which could affect the results. like this device for example:

Hi Faris, the article I referenced is intended for a clamp-on style USS application, so it wouldn't be directly in contact with the liquid flowing through the pipe. Nevertheless, you should be able to use this EVM for non-invasive USS applications such as the ones you referenced, you would just need to adjust the parameters based on the particular use case.
