EVM430-FR6043: USS configuration for a 1MHz sensors

Hi, 
I was trying to set it up for 200kHz transducers. Uploaded the code using CCS, gas demo. In USS loaded the C:\ti\msp\UltrasonicGasFR6043_02_30_00_01\examples\mtr_gui_config\Config_gas_200khz. Gave "request update", I am getting error "135 Algorithm DToF - Shift value was greater than maxSampleShift" so i checked the forum and changed the USS_userConfig.h
"#define USS_ALG_MAX_SAMPLE_SHIFT 40 "still getting same error.

The error code 135 usually caused by not capturing a proper receive signal. You can check on the ADC capture window for the receive signal first. Then you might need to adjust these parameters to get a better receive signal. Hi,

This is the ADC signal i get when the sensors are connected to the board. And you can see the errors are getting populated continuously.
I have been referring to the above provided document still getting the same errors.

So, there is nothing on J5/J6 and also nothing on AFE_CH0_IN?

1. Check on the transmit side: Can you disconnect the transducer and probe on the J5/6. You should observe the excitation signal there.

2. If there is valid excitation signal, and there is no receive signal observed. The issue could be related the pipe and transducer. You can send a picture of your test setup then.

At least, there is something in the ADC capture window now. Still need use oscilloscope to check the signal on J5/6 and AFE_CH0_IN. You should get a similar signal like the figure I shared before. 

About the noise issue, it could relate to the USB power supply. Do you have a battery or a clean supply which can power the board from below port?

It looks better with external supply. 3.3V with a limit of 300mA should work. 

Can you share the picture using an oscilloscope to capture those signals?

Yes sure . I have a doubt on the external supply method, when the voltage is set to 3.3 V and 300mA the board should show any LED indications ?

Because when i set the above mentioned values i don't see any LED indications on the board. I can see LED indications only when the above said values are set on the RPS and the USB is connected . Is it supposed to work like that ?

Hi,

The excitation looks correct now. And for the AFE_CH0_IN you will need to connect with the transducer and check. 

The LED indicators should perform the same with the USB power supply or the external supply. You can still connect with the USS GUI when using the external power supply, right? Then no need to worry about it.

Hi,
I have used a trans-axial pipe setup to hold the sensors and this the ADC i am getting.

Secondly i have used the v or reflective type pipe setup and this is the output signal observed.

I think we still have some noise in both these signals right ? Is there any way to reduce the same ?

The oscilloscope is placed at the J9 pin 4(AFE_CH0_IN) and GND .

It is a gas meter, the gas flowing through the pipe is to be checked.

Okay understood. So i can better results without the tube ? Yes, my idea of the pipe was to hold the transducers and measure the flow. So after our conversation yesterday i tweaked a few things around and got some output let me share with you . 

The above one is for the trans-axial setup without the tube inside the pipe.

And this is the one for the reflective type setup.

So now i can monitor the air flow in the pipe using the "waveform" tab ?

One more query on the tube setup for monitoring the flow, there is no way i can work around that setup to get a similar ADC signal even if i use glass tube ?

I want to go back to the first query on 1MHz sensor. In data sheet for the MSP430FR604x shows it can interface up to 2.5 MHz ultra sonic sensors. So only the IC does not the evaluation board ?
