Part Number: MSP430FR60431
Tool/software:
Hi,
In the MSP430FR60431 datasheet, it mentions the ability to measure a maximum flow rate of 8800 liters/hour (40 gallons/minute) on a 25-mm diameter pipe.
I calculated that this corresponds roughly to a velocity of 4.9 m/s (using DN25 and 8800 LPH). I have a few questions regarding this limitation:
-
Does this maximum flow rate imply that the MSP430FR60431 cannot accurately measure velocities higher than ~4.9 m/s in this pipe size?
-
Is this limitation related to the TOF (Time of Flight) measurement time resolution in the MCU?
-
What are the common workarounds or design considerations to extend the measurable velocity or flow rate range beyond this limit?
I’d appreciate any insights on the nature of this limitation and how best to address it in a flow measurement application.
