MSP-EXP430F5529LP: MSP-EXP430F5529LP [ERROR] MSP430: Error: MSP-FET / eZ-FET recovery failed

Part Number: MSP-EXP430F5529LP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DLP-7970ABP, UNIFLASH, MSP-FET

Tool/software:

 eZ-FET

Hello,

I have recently got a new MSP-EXP430F5529LP to use and interface the DLP-7970ABP NFC evaluation board. After attempting to flash the example DLP-7970ABP firmware. using uniflash, as written in the docs, I was prompted to update some firmware (I believe for the debugger MCU). The update failed and now when I try to flash the example firmware I get the error:

[ERROR] MSP430: Error initializing emulator: One of the connected MSP-FETs / eZ-FETs debuggers needs recovery. Select 'Recover' to start the recovery process. Note: Only one MSP-FET / eZ-FET debugger can be connected to your system during recovery.

when I try to recover the firmware I get:

[ERROR] MSP430: Error: MSP-FET / eZ-FET recovery failed

Can you please help me identify what I should do to fix this?

Thanks.

  • Hi Majid,

Maybe you can use a old version of CCS/UNIFLASH to see whether it helps.

I have no other idea if the recover steps doesn't work. The another method might be force the debug in boot mode, and then update the firmware by CCS/UNILASH.

    B.R.

    Sal
